Report: WWE's MVP Undergoes Surgery

Porter will be on the shelf

MVP underwent surgery last week, according to a new report.

WWE announced following the September 13 edition of Monday Night Raw that MVP had sustained a broken rib following an RKO from Randy Orton. MVP then noted that he would be getting his knee fixed while out with the storyline injury.

According to Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, MVP has since undergone surgery and the former United States Champion will be on the shelf "for a while."

MVP sustained a knee injury back on the February 15, 2021, episode of Raw in a six-man tag team match alongside Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander against Lucha House Party. The Franchise Playa returned to Raw soon after with a cane and he noted in April that he was trying alternative treatments before possibly needing to undergo surgery.

He ultimately returned to the ring in July and MVP wrestled a handful of times before being written off WWE TV last week.

In MVP's absence, Bobby Lashley will continue to perform on Monday Night Raw as he looks to regain the WWE Championship.
