Report: WWE Talent Now Less Likely To Jump Ship To AEW

Don't expect the likes of Drew McIntyre, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins to appear on AEW Dynamite in the near future. 

Three of WWE's top stars have their deals expiring within the coming months and there have been points in recent years where former WWE talents have chosen All Elite Wrestling over the Stamford-based company, notably in 2021 with the likes of Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, though, the belief is WWE talent are now less likely to jump ship to AEW than they were in the past. 

No reason was given for the changing mindset but WWE are the hottest they have been since the Attitude Era and the company has never been more profitable. AEW, meanwhile, are enjoying their own considerable success and the expectation is they will ink a new deal for their United States media rights later this year that will substantially boost the company's revenue. Tony Khan's promotion is firmly #2 to WWE in #1, however, in terms of viewership, revenue, and overall popularity in the United States and internationally. 

Meltzer reported that McIntyre's contract is set to expire in late May. He's expected to re-up with the company and he is being advertised for shows beyond when his deal expires, notably the Clash at the Castle pay-per-view. Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins will be free agents in a "few months" unless they sign new deals, according to Meltzer.
