The Young Bucks Discuss Long Term Storytelling in AEW

Ahead of the January 8th episode of Dynamite

Since All Elite Wrestling hosted Double Or Nothing in May 2019, the young promotion has been committed to portraying long term storylines.

There are currently a number of rivalries in the promotion which have been progressing over at least a few months. Cody's eventual confrontation with MJF has been building since The Salt Of The Earth was chosen as Cody's protege back in the Summer, with the payoff not expected to come before Revolution on March 1st. Hangman Adam Page has also been slowly turning heel while Chris Jericho's feud with Jon Moxley was teased all the way back at Double Or Nothing.

The Young Bucks recently did an interview with Max Garland at the Memphis Commercial Appeal ahead of the January 8th episode of Dynamite. They discussed the young promotion's commitment to long term storytelling as they believe it will ultimately lead to a better climax to feuds overall, as opposed to having lots of shorter rivalries.

They said: "We want long term, nuanced stories, and sometimes you have to struggle and suffer a little bit to get to the climax of the story. Wrestling fans are just so used to getting exactly what they need at the snap of a finger now."
