Triple H Confirms Drew Gulak's WWE Departure, Says His Contract Wasn't Renewed

Triple H has confirmed that Drew Gulak is gone from WWE

It was reported over the last week that Drew Gulak was the highest profile name released from WWE along with several other individuals from NXT, following on from WWE’s recent main roster cuts after WrestleMania 40. There were a lot of questions regarding Gulak’s release in particular, with it coming so soon after Ronda Rousey’s allegations of backstage misconduct emerged.

At the WWE Backlash press conference, Paul “Triple H” Levesque was asked about the validity of reports surrounding Gulak’s release, and whether it was in any way related to the Rousey accusations. Triple H responded by saying that news sources such as Fightful and PWInsider were not credible, and that Gulak had not been “released” but rather his contract was not renewed. He did not respond to the Rousey part of the question.

With no official word from WWE regarding their latest releases, the assumption was that Gulak’s exit was in fact a release. Triple H also noted that they company does release people all the time and that it is a part of the business, much like in the NFL where hundreds of players are released. Regardless of whether it was a release or a lack of renewal, this at the very least confirms Gulak's WWE departure.
