WWE Crown Jewel 2022 Results

For one of their final pay-per-views of the year, WWE returned to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on Saturday, November 5, with the show getting underway at the much more agreeable time of 4 pm GMT. 

The show started hot with Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley and after a slow middle of the card, the action picked up again with the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and The Brawling Brutes. The pay-per-view remained exciting from there and Logan Paul impressed in a very good main event, even making fans briefly question if he would walk away as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Brock Lesnar def. Bobby Lashley

In the opening contest, two of WWE's biggest stars faced off for the second time as Bobby Lashley went one-on-one with Brock Lesnar. The men previously faced off at Royal Rumble, a match Lashley won due to interference from Roman Reigns. They restarted their feud in October when Lesnar cost Lashley the United States Championship. 

Before the bell could ring, Bobby Lashley threw Lesnar into the steel steps and followed up with two Spears and a third through the barricade as he looked to end the match early. Lashley connected with a fourth but Lesnar managed to kick out. Lashley set up for the Hurt Lock next but Lesnar reversed into a German Suplex and he took Big Bobby to Suplex City before an F5. 

Lashley managed to fight back, driving Lesnar's head into the ring post. He then applied the Hurt Lock which had Lesnar reeling, screaming at the referee to shut up. The Beast hulked up, though, and channelled his inner-Bret Hart, climbing the turnbuckle up and over into a pin for the 1-2-3.

A heel turn then occurred following the contest as an angry Lashley applied the Hurt Lock again to leave Lesnar lying.

Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Dakota Kai) def. Alexa Bliss & Asuka (c) - WWE Women's Tag Team Championships

Only five days on from the titles changing hands on Monday Night Raw, Alexa Bliss and Asuka defended the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against former champions IYO SKY and Dakota Kai of Damage CTRL.

Before the match got underway, though, Bray Wyatt's logo flashed up during a backstage interview with the champions, which briefly left Alexa Bliss flustered. 

Once the match got underway, both teams fought back and forth before Asuka injured her knee and the heels took control, targeting the injured limb. Asuka eventually made the hot tag and Alexa Bliss ran wild before she scored a near fall with a Tornado DDT. Another near fall followed after a Code Red and a Tower of Doom occurred moments later. 

Alexa Bliss went for Twisted Bliss soon after but she was distracted by IYO SKY which allowed Dakota Kai to get her knees up. Bliss followed up back in the ring with a DDT before she went for Twisted Bliss again. A brawling IYO SKY and Asuka rolled into the ring, though, which distracted the official. This allowed Nikki Cross to charge to the ring and deck Bliss before Kai made the cover and Damage CTRL regained the Women's Tag Team Championships. 

Drew McIntyre def. Karrion Kross - Steel Cage Match

The feud between Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross continued in the third match of the show as they clashed inside a steel cage.

Both men fought back and forth until McIntyre connected with a Futureshock DDT. He then set up for the Claymore but Scarlett scaled the cage to distract him. This allowed Kross to recover and he locked in the Kross Jacket before he connected with the Kross Hammer. 

The two-time NXT Champion then took one million years trying to escape the cage which allowed Drew to catch him at the top of the structure and send him crashing back to the mat with a Superplex. 

Drew then tried to escape through the door but Scarlett pepper sprayed McIntyre again, as well as the referee. Kross then crawled to the door and was about to escape before Irn Dru stopped his nemesis and applied the Ankle Lock. He then connected with a Claymore and tried to escape through the door but Scarlett interfered again, locking it. Drew just opted to scale the cage instead and Scarlett tried to open the door for Kross but the key briefly got stuck. She eventually got it open but not in time as McIntyre dropped to the outside to pick up the win by escape.

The series between Kross and McIntyre is tied at one win apiece. 

Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, & Dominik Mysterio) def. The OC (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, & Luke Gallows)

Next up was a six-man tag team match pitting The Judgment Day against The OC. 

The OC dominated the opening minutes before Damian Priest decked Karl Anderson with a Superkick and The Judgment Day proceeded to work over Machine Gun KA, briefly mocking The OC with Too Sweets. KA eventually made the hot tag to Luke Gallows, who walked across the ring and pulled Dominik into the action. AJ Styles then finally received a tag and he took out all of the Judgment Day except Rhea Ripley. 

Later, Judgment Day combined to hit two Electric Chair Drops and a Superplex at the same time. AJ Styles then fought back and set up for the Phenomenal Forearm but Dominik distracted the official and Rhea Ripley decked the two-time WWE Champion, sending him crashing into the apron. Balor followed up with the Coup de Grace for the victory as Michael Cole demanded someone kick Rhea Ripley's ass. 

Braun Strowman def. Omos

Two titans collided next at Crown Jewel as the recently-returned Braun Strowman clashed with Omos, who was looking to score his first big win in months. 

Omos challenged Braun Strowman to a test of strength, a battle which The Nigerian Giant won. Omos then worked over Strowman with slow offence, including two Powerslams and a big throw. Strowman eventually fired back with punches and a Clothesline. The Strowman Express followed but Omos flattened him. He went for a Double-Handed Chokeslam but Strowman countered and fired back with his Running Powerslam for the win. 

The Usos (c) def. The Brawling Brutes (Butch & Ridge Holland) - Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships

The Brawling Brutes had a second shot at The Usos and the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at Crown Jewel as they also looked to exact revenge for Sheamus, who was written off TV following a vicious attack from The Bloodline a few weeks ago. 

While Sheamus might not have been in attendance, his influence was felt as Ridge Holland decked Jey Uso with the 10 Beats of the Bodhran before he took out Jimmy on the outside. Butch then stomped on Jimmy's fingers before Ridge went back on the offence with Jey as his victim. Butch decked Jey with a Moonsault soon after but The Usos managed to fight back, connecting with a Double Uso Splash on Butch before Ridge broke up the pin. 

More back-and-forth action followed before The Brawling Brutes hit their finisher on Jey, only to have the pin broken up by Jimmy. That was as close as the challengers came to winning as The Usos hit an Avalance 1D for the victory soon after. 

The Usos remain Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions and they will face The New Day on Friday's episode of SmackDown. Michael Cole mentioned on commentary that Jey Uso is believed to have a broken wrist and he will get an MRI on Monday but as he wrestled today, Jey seemingly won't miss any time.   

Bianca Belair (c) def. Bayley - Last Woman Standing Match for the Raw Women's Championship

The feud that has been running since Bayley returned at SummerSlam continued as Bayley challenged Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship, this time in a Last Woman Standing Match. Bayley pinned Belair in six-woman tag team action at Clash at the Castle but Belair tied the feud at Extreme Rules with a win in a Ladder Match.

The action was even in the early going as they fought over a steel chair, with Bayley clotheslining Belair while she was at on the chair. Bayley then played possum excellently, feigning a knee injury and she later trapped Belair with the steel steps and battered her with a kendo stick. Belair fought back with a Spinebuster on the steel steps and she proceeded to batter Bayley with a kendo stick as The Role Model scurried up the ramp. 

Belair looked to have the upper hand but Bayley fired back with a Bayley to Belly and trapped Belair in a production case, only for The EST to power out at the count of seven. Bayley pressed home her advantage, locking in a Crossface until Belair passed out. When Belair got to her feet, Bayley returned in a golf cart but she drove incredibly slowly, allowing Belair to knock her out of the driving seat and beat her on top of the vehicle. 

With Bayley still on top of the golf cart, Belair drove down the ramp and tried to throw Bayley through a table at ringside but the former champion just bounced off it. Belair pressed on from her 'I am the table' moment and Powerbombed Bayley through the weapon. Bayley got back to her feet at eight so Belair threw a pile of chairs into the ring and slammed Bayley onto them. 

Belair went for a 450 Splash with Bayley on the chairs but the challenger rolled out of the way as Belair crashed and burned, getting back to her feet just before the 10 count. Chair shots from Bayley followed and she went for a Rose Plant but Belair blocked and followed up with a KOD on the chair before she trapped Bayley in between a ladder and wedged the ladder under the bottom rope. 

Bayley tried everything she could to escape but couldn't as the referee counted to 10 for Belair to continue her reign as Raw Women's Champion. 

Bray Wyatt Promo

Bray Wyatt appeared in Saudi Arabia next and cut a promo about how he comes from a wrestling family (the Rotunda family) and how he strived for greatness to the extent that he made a monster of himself and wore a mask (The Fiend) which stopped him from feeling pain and being afraid. He was untouchable under the mask and it made him feel good to the point he became addicted to being The Fiend. That monster then destroyed him, though, leaving him alone and with nowhere to run.

Wyatt then said he doesn't even love himself but this doesn't have to be the end of his story. He then shouted his own name a few times before Uncle Howdy appeared on the screen, saying he couldn't be fooled and that Wyatt will ultimately go too far and when he does, Bray will feel good.

Roman Reigns (c) def. Logan Paul - Undisputed WWE Universal Championship

In only his third WWE match, Logan Paul challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of Crown Jewel. The programme was built on the idea that Logan Paul only needs to connect with one punch for the win but it remained to be seen whether Paul could channel his inner-Rocky Balboa and score one of the biggest upsets in WWE history. 

As with every Roman Reigns match, the action started slowly as Roman Reigns dominated the early going, with Logan swinging wildly exactly like Balboa in the opening rounds of his first match with Apollo Creed. The YouTuber eventually fired back with punches, a hip toss and a clothesline following a leapfrog and he then connected with a Buckshot Lariat! The challenger tried to follow up with a Phenomenal Forearm but Roman Reigns fought back with an uppercut. 

Reigns controlled the action while there was a dramatic camera pan-around and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion continued to work over Paul for several minutes. Paul managed to fight back, decking Reigns with a Blockbuster for the near fall. A Superman Punch from Logan followed before a Crossbody from the top rope and a Standing Moonsault for another near fall! 

Paul then tuned up the band for a Sweet Chin Music (he's been training with Shawn Michaels) but Roman caught it and fired back with a Uranage. Roman went for a Superman Punch but Paul decked him with a punch to the kidney before another Superman Punch! That looked to be it but Roman just managed to get his shoulder up at 2.9!

Logan then put Roman through the Saudi announce table, phone in hand! The Usos suddenly arrived to check on Roman and beat down Logan Paul's podcast friends. Jake Paul, with his own entrance music, then arrived and knocked out both The Usos. Yes, the reigning Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions were knocked out by Jake Paul. 

Logan Paul then hit a Frog Splash on Roman Reigns back in the ring but Reigns kicked out! Solo Sikoa made his way to the ring next, only to be escorted to the back before he could come to blows with Jake Paul. The Usos had gotten back to their feet and they had Jake cornered, only for them to be taken out by a Dive over the top rope from Logan.

Upon re-entering the ring, though, Logan Paul was floored by a Superman Punch from Roman Reigns and WWE's top star followed up with a Spear for the win. 

Crown Jewel then went off the air with a despondent Roman Reigns, who couldn't believe that he almost lost to Logan Paul.
