WWE Releases Fandango, Ever-Rise

More WWE cuts coming in on Friday

WWE veteran Fandango, as well as 205 Live tag team Ever-Rise, have been released from WWE, according to separate reports.

Fandango posted of his own release on Friday afternoon, tweeting, "Thank you @VinceMcMahon @TripleH @StephMcMahon Thank you for the last 14 years. I truly appreciate it!"

Signed with WWE developmental all the way back in 2006, the former Johnny Curtis eventually ended up in the role of Fandango, an arrogant ballroom dancer, in 2013. Notable moments of Fandango's include his feud with Chris Jericho, the ironic and unexpected trend of fans "Fandangoing" to his theme music, and his partnership with Tyler Breeze as "Breezango".

Fandango last teamed with Breeze on the June 15 NXT, where they defeated Imperium.

Canadian veterans Ever-Rise had been part of the WWE system since 2019, before debuting on the NXT brand that September. They moved over to 205 Live in May of last year, and occasionally split their time between those two brands.

They last wrestled on Tuesday's NXT, losing to Hit Row. Their release was confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

WWE has not confirmed any of these releases publicly.

It was announced earlier on Friday that Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari had been released from WWE as well.
