AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT Tie In Total Viewership, Dynamite Wins Key Demos

An interesting split...

Who won the viewership battle this week? Well, neither side, actually.

Showbuzz Daily reports that both AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT averaged 778,000 viewers for their respective Wednesday night broadcasts, marking the first tie in the head to head battle.

Dynamite's 778,000 viewers are down nine percent from the 851,000 average one week ago.

NXT also saw a decline this week, dropping eight percent from their 845,000 average from last Wednesday.

However, unlike last week, the only demographic that NXT managed to win was, as usual, the over-50 demo, in which they scored a 0.38 rating to AEW's 0.29.

AEW Dynamite ranked 11th on cable in the 18-49 demo with a 0.28 rating (down from eighth and 0.32 a week ago).

NXT ranked 21st on cable in the same demo with a 0.24 rating (down from 11th and 0.29 last week).

Cable news coverage of the ongoing impeachment hearings are a possible cause for some of the diminished numbers for wrestling, as FOX News' prime time shows (Tucker Carlson, Hannity, and The Ingraham Angle) have begun placing in the top ten for 18-49, skewing to a younger audience than usual.
