Backstage Update On The Creative Process For This Week's WWE Raw

The Paul Heyman era began...

Last week Paul Heyman was announced as the Executive Director of Monday Night Raw, and while he has reportedly had an influence on the show for some time now, this week's show was the first of the 'Paul Heyman era'.

With an explosive start seeing Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman going through the stage, Corey Graves swearing on air, and an angle (with a dash of real life to it) involving Mike & Maria Kanellis, Heyman's fingerprints were all over this week's show.

PWInsider have been able to provide a bit of insight as to how things were done this week, with their report claiming not too much had changed backstage from previous weeks.

Vince McMahon was still at Gorilla with Heyman alongside him, and even though there was a notable change to how this week's Raw felt, McMahon was still the man making the final creative decisions.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what PWI's report states: "The creative process at Raw last night was no different from any other week, with Vince McMahon being the lead person in charge.  He and Paul Heyman were both at the gorilla position together for much of the show.  While the show had a lot of Paul Heyman fingerprints on it, the end call on everything was still Vince McMahon."
