Batista Reveals The Stipulation Match He & Triple H Originally Wanted At WWE WrestleMania 35

No Holds Barred match took place between the pair...

"Give me what I want," Batista said roughly 160,987 times during an episode of WWE Raw in the build-up to WrestleMania 35.

And while, on the surface at least, the company did give The Animal what he wanted in the form of a No Holds Barred match against Triple H, it turns out they didn't actually give him everything he wanted.

Dave appeared on a recent edition of Talk Is Jericho and revealed that both he and The Game wanted a Hell In A Cell match on the Grandest Stage Of Them All. However, Vince McMahon turned the proposal down.

"Originally, we wanted a have a Hell In A Cell, but Vince," said Batista.

"Because of the pay-per-view, he didn’t want to have a Hell In A Cell, and we really wanted Hell In A Cell. They’re just great matches, they’re violent. We needed bells and whistles.

“We’re two older guys, we hadn’t wrestled in a long time and we needed the drama. We’ve already got the history, so we just needed the violence.”
