Brian Cage Reveals Legitimate Back Injury Suffered At IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion

Cage took on Johnny IMPACT for the world title...

Last night's IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view saw Brian Cage take on Johnny IMPACT for the IMPACT World Championship. You can see the result of that match, and the rest of the card for that matter, by clicking here.

Soon after the PPV had gone off the air, IMPACT's official Twitter account tweeted that Cage had been rushed to "the emergency room," and while that tweet perhaps looked like it was part of a wider storyline, Dave Meltzer claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury was indeed legit and was suffered as a result of the Spanish Fly off the entrance ramp to the floor.

Now, Cage himself has spoken out about the injury, confirming that he has suffered a possible small fracture, severe inflammation and bone bruising in his back.

Here's what Brian said on Busted Open Radio: “So right away, right when we hit, I’m rolling and I feel the pain shoot down my leg and my… just a feeling I’ve never had before in my life. I’m instantly thinking ruptured disk or whatever.

He then talked about the conversation he had with a doctor: "'I think you have severe inflammation and [a] bone bruise. There could be a small fracture there’. He (the doctor) goes, ‘I would like to rule that out. However, if it’s a fracture, I don’t see it being any major fracture’ and then he goes, ‘Even then, it’s not much you can do for that.’”
