Chris Jericho Announces Fozzy Show On Same Day As WrestleMania 34

Has this ruled the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla out of Mania?

Chris Jericho's band Fozzy have announced the dates for their 2018 Judas Rising Tour, with the final show of 25 falling on the same day as WrestleMania 34.

April 8 will see the rockers take to the stage in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire while New Orleans hosts Mania at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Fozzy's show is on at a place called Wally's if you're interested in attending.

The timing of the Fozzy show is a bit of a surprise given Jericho's recent dealings with WWE. While he has been missing for SummerSlam and Survivor Series - the company's last two 'big four' shows - he's appeared at the last two WrestleManias, defeating AJ Styles at 32 in Dallas before losing his United States Championship to Kevin Owens this year in Orlando, respectively.

2018 might just be a Chris Jericho-less year for WWE, something that was unfathomable just a few short months ago when he played a notable role in the Owens/Styles feud for the US title. Y2J is scheduled to face Kenny Omega at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom on January 4 at the Tokyo Dome, an appearance that looks like being a one-off at the time of writing. This is still a huge one-off, however, with the scheduled bout being Jericho's first outside of WWE since 1999. After that, the 15-state Fozzy tour starts on February 28, lasting all the way through to 'Mania day. There's a chance he could still come back to a WWE ring in the latter part of the year, but this seems unlikely given he's seemingly passed up the chance of an appearance on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

Given the magnitude of the deal Jericho somehow brokered with New Japan while having Vince McMahon's blessings, some may argue that pulling off the absolutely unexpected by appearing at both WrestleMania and the Fozzy show is a possibility. Others would argue it's unlikely given the four-hour flight between them.
