Cody Rhodes Discusses AEW Only Doing Four Pay-Per-Views Per Year

He wants it to be like "the Golden Age of Wrestling"

Since All Elite Wrestling hosted Double Or Nothing in May, the young promotion has established itself within the professional wrestling world. Boasting stars like Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, and PAC - to name a few.

The Executive Vice President of AEW Cody recently appeared with his wife Brandi Rhodes on The Fan Morning Show With Jeff & Big Joe to promote Dynamite. One of the things they discussed was planning long term storytelling and only running four pay-per-views per year.

Cody said: "We are long-form and we work backwards. We are going to do four major pay-per-views a year. All Out, Double or Nothing, Full Gear, and one unnamed [which] we'll probably announce within the next two weeks. That is how wrestling used to be - the Golden Age Of Wrestling in the 1980s and even the late '70s - you looked at the finale and you worked backwards. We never want to be week to week. That is almost arrogant if you think you can do this week to week. Especially with young kids that we are responsible for now. Like your Luchasauruses, Rihos, Britt Bakers - we are responsible to them now, we want to do it all long-form and disciplined without going hotshot or week to week."
