Cody Rhodes Undergoes Arthroscopic Knee Surgery

Cody Rhodes underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday morning in Atlanta, repairing an injury sustained last November at Ring of Honor’s Global Wars event in Buffalo.

Rhodes tweeted after having the surgery, “Surgery completed. Went smooth. Back to work. (Cowabunga I guess)”.

The expected recovery time for Rhodes’ knee is two to three months, which doesn’t exactly throw a wrench into any future plans, as Rhodes isn’t scheduled to wrestle until AEW Double or Nothing on May 25.

After sustaining the injury in November, the MRI revealed two tears of the meniscus in Rhodes’ right knee. Rhodes opted to wait until February to have surgery, fulfilling upcoming bookings and handling AEW public appearances in the meantime.

Rhodes wrestled a handful of matches after sustaining the injury, among them an ROH World Title match against Jay Lethal at Final Battle in December, and an IWGP United States title loss to Juice Robinson weeks later at Wrestle Kingdom 13, the latter of which is his last match to date.
