Dakota Kai Teases Impending Return To The Ring

How close is she?

Over seven months have passed since Dakota Kai tore her ACL at an NXT live event, and it seems as though her road to recovery is nearing its end.

Kai simply tweeted out earlier Monday, "A matter of weeks...". This follows a series of other recent tweets from her account that indicate her getting closer to receiving medical clearance.

Kai's most recent match took place on December 7 in Green Bay, a six-woman tag that pitted her, Candice LeRae, and Kairi Sane against Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir. It wasn't until mid-January that she officially revealed the nature of her injury, and subsequently underwent surgery.

At the time of her procedure, Kai tweeted out, “Hear me when I say this; Within my whole being, I know for sure I will be back stronger than ever.”

Kai participated in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, after which she joined the NXT roster. She also competed in the tournament to crown NXT UK's first Women's champion, losing to Rhea Ripley in the semi-finals.
