Details On WWE's Third Annual Starrcade Event, Including Possible Date And City

Back in a familiar place...

Though the events don't get that much attention compared to the contemporary WWE fare, the company unearthed the Starrcade name in 2017, using it for a pair of Saturday live events in 2017 and 2018.

Dave Meltzer writes that WWE is expected to make an announcement, perhaps as early as Tuesday, about the third running of the show under their banner.

While nothing has been confirmed as of yet regarding the 2019 Starrcade, Meltzer claims he was told that a Saturday, November 30 show date was given to him by a source.

Currently, WWE is scheduled to run Atlanta on that date, which, if that's where Starrcade will be, makes sense historically. Four NWA/WCW Starrcades took place in Atlanta, including 1985, 1986, 1989, and 1992. For 1985 and 1986, Atlanta split the show with Greensboro, NC as part of a two-city simulcast.

Meltzer also writes that the show is expected to be a WWE Network special.

The 2017 event ran before over 10,000 fans in Greensboro, and wasn't broadcast in any way, save for Dustin Rhodes' entrance (to his old WCW "Natural" theme music) being uploaded to social media. A year later, 7500 fans in Cincinnati attended Starrcade, with four of the 11 matches airing on WWE Network.
