Fight Network Launches In UK, Featuring IMPACT, MMA, And More

IMPACT will air in conjunction with usual US broadcast, and be replayed at 9PM UK time.

IMPACT has received a new primetime UK slot, thanks to the launch of Fight Network on SKY and Freesat. The network will also air a variety of combat sports-based programming.

As per today's official press release:

'Fight Network, the world’s premier multi-platform channel dedicated to complete coverage of combat sports, today announced it has launched on Channel 192 on SKY and Channel 161 on Freesat across the UK.'

Both Fight Network and IMPACT are owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, and these business ties have seen the professional wrestling promotion given an exciting new timeslot - particularly for UK fans. IMPACT will air at 1AM on Friday, in conjunction with the show's usual US timeslot, and will also be replayed at 9PM on both Friday and Saturday. The full details are as follows:

'Fight Network will broadcast on Showcase TV in the UK starting at 9:00 p.m. every night. As well as being found on SKY and Freesat, Fight Network on Showcase TV can also be viewed online, by visiting www.information.tv/showcase and pressing play on the Showcase TV icon.'

IMPACT's weekly show isn't the only content available to UK viewers, as the network will also show Xplosion and British Boot Camp. In terms of other professional wrestling, there are also classic episodes of Wrestling at The Chase, a St. Louis based series which ran from the '50s to '80s, and featured legendary names such as Ric Flair, Harley Race, and Lou Thesz.

As well as professional wrestling, Fight Network UK will also broadcast a variety of global combat sports, including London-based Ultimate Challenge MMA, Abu Dhabi Grand Slam courtesy of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and WGP Kickboxing from Brazil.

Anthem COO Peter Einstein also suggested that there will be more content added in the near future, stating:

'The UK is rooted in combat sports tradition, producing many world champions and memorable personalities over the years. Our diverse programming line-up will showcase premium combat sports content from around the world, while highlighting local stars and events, and we plan to bolster our schedule with more exciting content over the next few months.'
