Finals Set For AEW World Tag Team Title Tournament

Will take place next week...

The semifinal matches in the AEW World Tag Team title tournament occurred Wednesday night at the Dynamite tapings in Pittsburgh, setting up a final round between two teams with a fresh grudge.

The finals, which take place next week in Charleston, WV, will pit Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix, The Lucha Bros, against Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky of SCU.

The Lucha Bros won their semifinal match earlier in the night, defeating Private Party in a 12-minute match that cut a relentless pace from bell to bell.

Immediately after, Kazarian and Sky defeated The Dark Order to advance.

It was during last week's episode of Dynamite that Fenix and Pentagon jumped Kazarian and Christopher Daniels during their entrance for their own quarterfinal bout. Pentagon injured Daniels' neck with a package piledriver on the entrance ramp, necessitating Sky substituting on short notice in his street clothes (and just one shoe).

Pentagon and Fenix previously defeated Kazarian and Sky at AEW Fight For the Fallen in Jacksonville on July 13.
