First Ever Women's War Games Scheduled For WWE NXT TakeOver

The match beyond...

NXT brings back the classic two-ringed cage matches known as War Games for its November TakeOver for the third year in a row. However, the 2019 incarnation will break new ground, as for the first time ever, one such match will feature women's wrestlers.

Rhea Ripley and NXT Women's champion Shayna Baszler will serve as captains for a match in which the teams have not been 100 percent finalized, but will most likely include the participants in a wild brawl that occurred Wednesday night.

Other babyfaces involved in the skirmish, aside from Ripley, include Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai, and Tegan Nox, while the heels involved in the scuffle include Baszler, Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke, Bianca Belair, and Io Shirai.

A report on the match from CBS Sports namedrops Mia Yim, indicating her possible participation in War Games.

A men's War Games match is also scheduled to run at the event.

NXT TakeOver War Games take place the night before Survivor Series, on Saturday, November 23, at the Allstate Arena in suburban Chicago, IL.
