Former WWE Superstar Sin Cara Has Changed His Name

Continuing the legacy of one of his old coaches…

WWE

At AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event, Sin Cara (real name Jorge Arias) made his first appearance since being released by WWE. As Pagano was being beaten down, Sin Cara ran down to make the save. He used his Sin Cara name and wore one of his WWE masks for the event.

Dave Meltzer reported this could lead to legal trouble for Jorge Arias, as WWE holds the trademark for Sin Cara in Mexico and the former Superstar used it without the company’s permission.

Now, Arias has changed his in-ring name to Cinta de Oro. The name was previously used by Sergio Aguirre Martinez, who trained Arias to be a professional wrestler and was one of Sin Cara’s idols as a child.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion wished to honour his memory and the original Cinta de Oro’s sons gave Arias permission to use the name. They also give him the last mask worn by their father.

The original Cinta de Oro primarily competed in Mexico’s World Wrestling Association during the 1980s, where he was a one-time WWA World Middleweight champion.
