Jack Swagger Claims He's 'No CM Punk' Ahead Of Bellator MMA Debut

HEH?!

Five Star Wrestling icon Jake Hager - known to many as former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger - makes his MMA debut for Bellator on the same night as NXT TakeOver: Pheonix (January 26).

Hager will be fighting at heavyweight against J.W. Kiser in what will be his MMA debut at Bellator 214 – a fight that is on the undercard for Ryan Bader vs Fedor Emelianenko. He'll also be played to the cage by R-Truth - this isn't a joke. It's really happening.

Speaking to TMZ ahead of his MMA debut, Hager has claimed that his run in the cage will be more successful than CM Punk's - who lost two matches for UFC against Mickey Gall and Mike Jackson respectfully.

“I’m different (to Punk) for so many reasons," Hager said.

"I’ve been wrestling since I was 5 years old, bro. I have over 150 Division 1 college wrestling matches, and I’m gonna rely on that as my amateur MMA and boxing career to help when the anxiety kicks in. I think the biggest thing that you’re gonna see is the difference between me and him is that I am prepared. I am 100% prepared to take this fight, to go into that Octagon, go in that cage and inflict my will on anybody.”
