Jerry Lynn Signs With AEW

World Champion-turned-producer joins the new company…

WWE

The man once known as “The New F’N Show” in ECW becomes the latest member of All Elite Wrestling.

Jerry Lynn, having served in non-wrestling roles in the years since his in-ring retirement in 2013, joins the AEW family, per a tweet from the promotion.

In said tweet, Lynn is referred to in the graphic as “Coach Jerry Lynn”, indicating what is likely a similar backstage role to what he held in Ring of Honor, where he had worked as a producer since 2016.

No official word has been made of Lynn’s status with ROH, regarding a departure.

It is also not clear if Lynn, “Coach” title or not, will be any sort of on-air character, or if his role is strictly behind-the-scenes.

Lynn retired from the ring in March 2013, 25 years to the day after his first match. In his career, Lynn reigned as both Ring of Honor and ECW World Heavyweight champion, and was one of the pioneers of Impact Wrestling’s X Division, holding the division’s title twice. Lynn first turned heads in the early-nineties through his transcendent series of matches with a young Sean Waltman (who wrestled then as The Lightning Kid) across various promotions, including Dallas’ Global Wrestling Federation.
