Latest Update On The Rock Potentially Appearing On The First WWE SmackDown On Fox

First week in October...

The first week in October became all the more monumental for professional wrestling fans after All Elite Wrestling revealed their weekly show on TNT will debut October 2.

WWE SmackDown Live will switch from the USA Network to Fox on October 4, with Vince McMahon et all seemingly planning for a bumper show.

One of the many rumours circulating at the moment sees The Rock being lined up for a special appearance. SmackDown, of course, was named after one of The Great One's iconic catchphrases all the way back in 1999.

The latest update on Rocky's status for the first show on the new network comes to us from the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

At this time, The Rock has not committed to appearing on the show but it appears that Dave Meltzer has learned talks have taken place. For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what was penned in the latest WON: "Regarding the 10/4 Smackdown debut on FOX in Los Angeles, the hoped for big hook would be Dwayne Johnson there live. At this point he has not committed to doing the show but that is something talked about."
