Marty Scurll Returns To NJPW

Last night, New Japan Pro Wrestling continued their US tour as the Japanese promotion rolled into the Durham Armory in Durham, North Carolina. The 637 people in attendance witnessed Lance Archer and Jeff Cobb in action along with the main event of Juice Robinson, David Finlay, YOSHI-HASHI & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Chase Owens, Jado, Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa.

However, the biggest moment of the night came when Marty Scurll shocked the crowd and appeared in New Japan for the first time in seven months. The Villain has not competed in NJPW since Best Of The Super Juniors when on June 6, 2019, he teamed with Brody King in a losing effort against Kazuchika Okada & Rocky Romero.

At last night's show, Scurll challenged Jay White to a match at Supercard Of Honor on April 4 and confirmed this would not be the last time we see him back in a New Japan ring.

Scurll has so far enjoyed a successful career in Japan, having previously been a member of Bullet Club and then The Elite. He is a former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champion with The Young Bucks.

Scurll's appearance seemingly confirms his new arrangement with Ring Of Honor, with whom he recently signed a new contract. While taking on the role of Joint-Head Booker, The Villain also has the freedom to work for other promotions on dates which don't conflict with ROH shows.
