New Report Claims The Revival Did Ask For WWE Release Following This Week's Raw

Will WWE let them go?

Yesterday, the wrestling world was taken aback by the rumours that Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder of The Revival had asked for their WWE release. While this wasn't confirmed anywhere, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com did note there were genuine fears backstage that the former NXT Tag Team Champions did want to leave for pastures new.

Well, according to Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, those fears were justified, as Uncle Dave is reporting that The Revival did indeed ask for their WWE Release immediately following their match against Lucha House Party on this week's WWE Raw.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Dave penned in this week's WON: "The Revival, after their win over Kalisto & Metalik on the 1/13 Raw, while still in their gear, asked for their release. As of press time they haven’t been given their release. The word we got is that nobody who asks for their release right now is expected to be given it for obvious reasons."

So then, will WWE grant the pair's release from the company? Or will they have them sit out the rest of their contracts like they did with former Cruiserweight Champion, Neville, last year? Only time will tell...
