NJPW Star Reportedly Done With Company

Current roster member heading for pastures new...

News surrounding New Japan Pro Wrestling over recent times has been about new stars turning out for the promotion after the recent in-ring debut of Jon Moxley, and the appearance of KENTA at Dominion.

However, it appears that a familiar face is done with the promotion, as Voices of Wrestling are reporting that Davey Boy Smith Jr. will not be appearing for New Japan for the foreseeable future.

After appearing for NJPW all the way back in 2005 initially as Black Assasin, Smith returned to the promotion in 2012, joining Suzuki-gun. The 33-year-old took a two-year hiatus from NJPW with his stablemates, turning out for Pro Wrestling NOAH from 2015-17.

During his NJPW career, Smith won three IWGP Tag Team Championships with Lance Archer in The Killer Elite Squad tag team.

Smith is currently a mainstay in MLW, where he's in the Hart Foundation alongside Teddy Hart and Brian Pillman Jnr. Hart and Smith are the current MLW Tag Team Champions.

Currently, the Hart Foundation are locked in a heated rivalry with MJF's group, Dynasty.
