Following NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, NXT UK held its latest round of tapings this weekend at the York Barbican in York, England.
One star who was noticeably absent from the event was Jazzy Gabert, who was booked to face Killer Kelly. The Alpha Female explained she was not cleared to compete by WWE’s medical team as she had been in a car accident on January 12. While she thought she was well enough to perform, WWE did not.
This ultimately ended Gabert’s involvement with the UK brand as she tweeted on Saturday that she was now a free agent. She then added on Instagram: “I will press the RESET button!! I will be OFFLINE for a short while! Need a change! Will change! Body, mind and soul needs a break!! 10 days of fasting, including keeping off from social media, is the first step. Second one, which I look most forward too is changing my look! And I change my profession… one came to an end and one is rising like a Phoenix. Watch out for it! Thank you for being on this journey.”
Some wrestling fans were unsure if Gabert was simply working an angle or if she had genuinely left the company, but Paul Davis at WrestlingNews.co did confirm that the former Championship Of Wrestling Ladies champion was now a free agent as her contract with NXT UK had expired. Davis added that WWE did offer Gabert a new deal but she decided not to re-sign with the company.
