Post-WWE Royal Rumble SmackDown Live Event Cancelled

Damn production issues...

The WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from Chase Field in Pheonix, Arizona. The following night, Monday Night Raw will be taking place inside the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Pheonix, while a SmackDown Live live event was set to take place in Tucson.

However, that blue brand live event has been cancelled due to "production issues" - what those production issues are is unclear at this stage.

At the time of writing, it appears the Superstars of SmackDown Live will be getting the night of the 28th off due to the cancellation.

Here is the official statement from WWE on the matter:

“WWE® LIVE JANUARY 28 IN TUCSON CANCELLED

STAMFORD, Conn., January 11, 2019 – The WWE (NYSE: WWE) live event scheduled for January 28 at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, AZ has been cancelled due to production issues.

All tickets purchased will be refunded at point of purchase.

Monday Night Raw® on January 28 and SmackDown® Live on January 29 at Talking Stick Resort Arena will take place as scheduled; tickets are available at www.Ticketmaster.com."
