Reason Goldberg Returned To WWE At Super ShowDown Revealed

The match with The Undertaker main evented the latest Saudi show...

Goldberg returned to WWE for his first match since the WrestleMania 33 defeat to Brock Lensar at Super ShowDown on Friday.

The match, announced on May 13 suggesting it was arranged at the last minute, was a scary one for both Bill and The Undertaker as a couple of moves could have resulted in serious injury for both men.

First of all, Goldberg's head was spiked into the mat during an Undertaker Tombstone, while a clearly rattled former WCW World Heavyweight Champion's attempted Jackhammer turned out to be a sickening Brainbuster.

Thanks to Fightful, we have learned one of the reasons Goldberg actually made the decision to come back for one more match. According to their report, one of the terms Goldberg struck with WWE was that his wife and son were in attendance for the match so they could see the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion wrestle one more time.

Both Mrs. Goldberg and Goldberg Jnr. were referenced on commentary during the match.

Goldberg has apologised for his part in the match on Twitter: "Knocked myself out and thought I could finish.... love my fans.....but let u down. Everyone else that found “pleasure” ..... hope ur happy"
