Report: Another WWE Hall Of Fame Inductee Revealed

A British wrestling legend will be inducted...

So far, WWE has announced The nWo and Batista will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame during WrestleMania 36 weekend. Three more inductees were also teased last week, as WrestleVotes reported The Bella Twins and Jushin Thunder Liger will also be part of this year's Hall Of Fame Class.

Now, Dave Meltzer has revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Davey Boy Smith will be inducted into the Hall Of Fame on April 2. Fans have been clamouring for The British Bulldog to be inducted for a number of years, along with other Superstars like Christian and Owen Hart.

Meltzer said: "Hall Of Fame, obviously they have announced Batista and The nWo…These are confirmed, The Bella Twins, people know about that, that was out last week along with Jushin Liger. And the other one is Davey Boy Smith, so Davey Boy Smith will be going into the Hall Of Fame. The family has pushed that one for years and years and years and years and so this is the year he's going in."

Davey Boy Smith is considered an icon of British wrestling who achieved worldwide success in WWE, WCW and All Japan Pro Wrestling. He initially broke onto the scene as one half of The British Bulldogs with his cousin, Dynamite Kid, where they became WWE Tag Team Champions at WrestleMania 2.

The tag team would eventually split in 1990, and Smith pursued a singles career soon after. With his Bulldog Matilda, Davey Boy became immensely popular, which culminated in his finest match at SummerSlam 1992 when he won the Intercontinental Championship from Bret Hart at Wembley Stadium. Afterwards, he proceeded to jump between WWE and WCW for the rest of his career, competing in memorable rivalries as part of The Hart Foundation and as a singles star.
