Report: Cain Velasquez's Next WWE Appearance Revealed

Cardio Cain will be back soon!

Back on the October 4th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cain Velasquez shocked the professional wrestling world by debuting in WWE. After Lesnar won the WWE Championship, Velasquez confronted his former nemesis, forcing The Beast Incarnate to retreat backstage.

Lesnar and Velasquez then reignited their rivalry from UFC, as they faced each other at Crown Jewel for the WWE title. Ultimately, Lesnar equalled the series at one win apiece as he forced Cardio Cain to tap out to the Kimura Lock in 88 seconds.

It was revealed after the match that it was kept short because Velasquez was suffering from a serious knee injury. For the moment, the former UFC fighter is using stem cells to heal his knee, which allowed him to compete at a WWE house show in Mexico City.

Velasquez is expected to reappear on WWE TV very soon, as Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he is currently booked for the Royal Rumble.

What WWE plans to do with Velasquez at the pay-per-view is not currently known, but he is one of the favourites to win the men's Royal Rumble match. This would allow the former UFC Heavyweight champion to settle his feud with Lesnar at The Showcase Of The Immortals.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "Cain Velasquez’s next booking is for the Royal Rumble show."
