Report: Possible Changes To Several Planned WWE WrestleMania 36 Matches

Card morphing a bit...

With six weeks to go until WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, there appear to be alterations for several matches that haven't yet been announced.

Earlier reports indicated that Roman Reigns was to challenge The Fiend for the Universal title at the event, while John Cena (in what would be his first match in close to 15 months) would face Elias.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that every match on the SmackDown side of the card is "changing or in danger of changing," adding that Reigns vs. Fiend and Cena vs. Elias now appear to be off.

Meltzer speculates that the finish of Goldberg vs. Fiend on Thursday at Super ShowDown could have something to do with those changes.

Meltzer also claims that Bayley was scheduled to defend the SmackDown Women's title against Naomi at WrestleMania, but that match was instead moved up to Super ShowDown.

The only confirmed matches for WrestleMania 36 so far are Brock Lesnar vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE championship, Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the NXT Women's title, and Becky Lynch defending the Raw Women's title against the winner of next month's Elimination Chamber bout. Edge vs. Randy Orton is most definite, but hasn't been announced in story canon yet.
