Report: Reason Brock Lesnar Is Involved In WWE Men's Royal Rumble Match Revealed

The Beast Incarnate will hunt 29 other Superstars...

In recent months, there has been much speculation over Brock Lesnar's WrestleMania 36 plans. In early December, talkSPORT reported that Lesnar would be facing either Tyson Fury or Cain Velasquez at The Showcase Of The Immortals.

However, Dave Meltzer refuted this story in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as he stated The Beast Incarnate would not be facing either Fury or Velasquez at Mania.

On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Paul Heyman announced his client would be breaking WWE convention and entering the Men's Royal Rumble match at number one, despite being WWE Champion. WrestleVotes revealed on Twitter that the match will be used to set up Brock's WrestleMania opponent and that he could face a Superstar from SmackDown or NXT.

While no one currently knows who his opponent will be, the overwhelming favourite amongst fans seems to be NXT Superstars Keith Lee and Matt Riddle.

For the avoidance of doubt, WrestleVotes tweeted: "Source says WWE is doing this Lesnar in the Rumble angle as a way to set up Brock’s Mania matchup. Which could signal its against someone from SD or NXT as Heyman mentioned a few times last night. Opens up a world of possibilities."
