Report Reveals How Much WWE NXT Developmental Talents Are Paid
How much money are those in the WWE Performance Center earning?
Over the last few months especially, it feels like WWE have signed just about every independent professional wrestler to contracts at the Performance Center.
Now, thanks to a report from Sports Business Daily, we have some insight as to how much those recently-signed talents are being paid.
For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what the report says: "Those signed to developmental contracts are paid on average $50,000 to $150,000 a year. The overall average for those in development is about $80,000. If they reach the top of the WWE, salaries can climb into the seven figures."
The report also reveals that WWE passed up the opportunity to sign former Universal, United States, Intercontinental and NXT Champion Kevin Owens after his first trial.
Triple H is also quoted in the article, talking about what it takes to make it in WWE: “What we’re really looking for, though, when they start to break down is, ‘how do you really act? Are you the type of person that when you’re tired and exhausted puts the other person down to get in front of them, or are you the type of person that looks to the person next to you and picks them up and says, ‘Come on, let’s go, we’re going to finish this.’ Because you can’t do it by yourself in this business. So you have to be that emergent leader.
“Charisma is king, or queen. That X factor that as you walk into the room makes people turn their heads and ask, ‘Who’s that?’”
