Report: Update On Goldberg's Plans For WWE WrestleMania 36

Is anybody next...

On the February 7 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Goldberg appeared on WWE TV for the first time since he defeated Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam. The former NFL defensive tackle appeared by telecast from his home and told "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt that he was next.

The two superstars will now face off at Super ShowDown on February 27 for the Universal Championship, as Goldberg looks to become a four-time world champion.

His latest stint in the company was only scheduled to be another one and done affair, but because his appearance on SmackDown did so well in the ratings, there was speculation that the former Universal Champion could be in line for a match at WrestleMania 36 against either Roman Reigns or John Cena.

However, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has not altered its plans and Goldberg is not scheduled to wrestle at The Showcase Of The Immortals. Instead, the company plans to push on with John Cena vs. Elias and Roman Reigns vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt on April 5.
