Report: Why WWE Want To Move NXT To USA Network Over Fox Revealed

AEW's weekly TV show has got some direct competition...

Come Friday, October 4 WWE SmackDown Live will be moving from the USA Network to Fox.

With All Elite Wrestling's as yet unnamed weekly TNT show starting on Wednesday, October 2, it was expected that NXT would also be moving from its regular WWE Network slot to Fox to start a Wednesday night wars of sorts.

However, it is being reported that NXT will be moving to the USA Network instead, with the announcement set to be made on tonight's WWE Raw.

While discussing Vince McMahon taking a more hands-on role with NXT once it has moved to television, Dave Meltzer has revealed the reason why WWE have chosen USA over Fox: "What I was told was, why they wanted to go to USA, is that it wasn't a money thing.

"It was that it would have a better shot at not losing, because he doesn't want to lose that battle. The feeling is that it's better, because wrestling fans are used to the USA Network. They're not used to FS1. UFC fans were used to FS1, but it's something they're not used to.

"...and the fact that the announcement is being made on Raw would also lend credence to the fact that it's on USA Network on Wednesday. But it is Wednesday 8-10 pm. It gives them a higher profile, more of an advantage. It also means, that everyone who thinks Vince is not going to get involved..."
