Ric Flair Pulls Out Of Starrcast Due To Health Issues
"The Nature Boy" will be on the mend...
As a result of his recent health issues, and an important medical procedure set for Monday, Ric Flair will not be appearing this weekend at Starrcast in Las Vegas, as was originally planned.
TMZ confirmed Monday that Flair will be forced to miss this weekend's festivities, which included a celebrity roast with him as the guest of honor, and a panel discussion alongside famed in-ring rival Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. Dave Meltzer followed by noting that sources close to Flair have confirmed the situation.
Flair entered into an Atlanta-area hospital last Thursday in preparation for a then-unspecified medical procedure (which Meltzer has since said is heart-related). Flair's son-in-law Conrad Thompson claimed that the procedure was planned, and that "The Nature Boy" wanted to get it done before flying out to Las Vegas for Starrcast.
The procedure was scheduled for sometime on Friday, but due to complications, was moved to Monday.
Meltzer says that Flair was in "good spirits" prior to the procedure, speaking with people on the phone.
