ROH Reportedly Fires Women's Champion Kelly Klein

According to her husband...

Reigning ROH Women's champion Kelly Klein has apparently been let go from the company, according to her husband, current AEW producer BJ Whitmer.

Whitmer, himself a former ROH talent, posted via Twitter, "Now that the cat is out of the bag. Yes, my wife was fired by (ROH) COO Joe Koff, via email Tuesday evening. Not a phone call, an EMAIL. Kelly is still very much suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome and was fired while still injured."

Klein spoke out recently in support of Joey Mercury, who in the past few weeks has taken to Twitter to share a number of reported issues behind the scenes with the company.

Mercury shared an e-mail (with Klein's permission) that detailed how she was making just $24,000 a year with the company, and implied that this was the cap for all female talent.

Mercury also claimed that Klein was sent to South Africa to wrestle following ROH's United Kingdom tour, despite sustaining a concussion. This was part of Mercury's larger indictment of ROH's alleged lack of workplace safety, while listing other examples.

Since Whitmer's tweet on Thursday night, Klein responded to a fan who noted that Sinclair Broadcasting (ROH's parent company) has an alleged history of firing people with medical issues.

Klein is a three-time ROH Women of Honor champion, last winning the title on October 12 from Angelina Love.
