Roman Reigns Says 'Greatest Royal Rumble' Will Be A WWE Network Event

The Big Dog revealed some details on Sirius XM.

Roman Reigns recently appeared on Jim Norton and Sam Roberts' Sirius XM show, and revealed that next month's 'Greatest Royal Rumble' will indeed be broadcast on the WWE Network.

The show will take place on April 27th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and will feature a historic 50-man Royal Rumble match.

Several big names have been announced for the event, including Reigns himself, John Cena, Triple H, AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, and many more. It's unclear, however, which Superstars will be competing in the Rumble itself, and who will merely be appearing elsewhere on the card (although with 50 entrants, big names are surely expected).

We also don't yet know any other details about the card, such as how many other matches will take place alongside the Rumble - but its status as a WWE Network event will surely dampen rumours of the event being a glorified house show.

However, it's also unclear how big a part the events of the show will play in ongoing WWE storylines, or whether - like the ongoing Mixed Match Challenge - it will rarely be referred to on Raw and SmackDown.

The Rumble match itself will be the largest in history, breaking the previous record set by the 2011 40-man Royal Rumble. That match was won by Alberto Del Rio, who last eliminated Santino Marella.

The 'Greatest Royal Rumble' is part of a 10-year partnership between WWE and the Saudi General Sports Authority - an organisation tied to the wider Saudi Vision 2030 project, aiming for social and economic reform over the next decade or so.
