Shane McMahon Legitimately Broke George Mizanin's Rib At WWE WrestleMania 35
And George gave The Best In The World a black eye...
Perhaps the greatest WrestleMania Moment of them all happened at this year's event, as the brave and noble George Mizanin stopped Shane McMahon from delivering a devastating elbow from the top rope and through the announce table to his son, The Miz. George then got into the ring and stood up to the best professional wrestler in the world, creating a more iconic standoff image than Hogan and Andre managed at WrestleMania III.
However, George himself has revealed that he wasn't supposed to get into the ring inside MetLife Stadium, and not only that, Shane actually broke one of his ribs while beating him up on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
Here's what George had to say on the Jobbing Out podcast: “I wasn’t supposed to get in the ring. But he [Shane McMahon] said, ‘Whatever happens, just follow my lead.’ And he was calling me into the ring. And I thought, ‘What’s going on? I’m not supposed to get in the ring.’ And I got in the ring and that’s where he actually knee’d me. I broke a rib. And I guess I gave him a black eye. And I guess Michael had three staples put into his head that day.”
Mr. Miz also revealed that the iconic shot seen above was totally improvised and Vince McMahon told him it was his favourite part of the show.
