The Advice CM Punk Gave Ronda Rousey Before Her WWE Debut

Birds of a UFC feather, flock together...

During an event to promote UFC 225, two-time WWE Champion CM Punk revealed he spoke to Ronda Rousey ahead of her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 - giving the Rowdy one some advice.

Ronda, of course, had arguably the most anticipated debut match in WWE history at 'Mania in April, taking on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a mixed tag match alongside Raw GM, Kurt Angle.

Ahead of the bout, Punk revealed he simply told Ronda to have fun: “The only thing I told her was to just have fun. I don’t know what it’s like back there in this current environment. I know she’d probably get treated differently, just as I know I probably get treated differently here. The only thing I ever told her is, ‘I know you’ve got a lot of people telling you, do this, don’t do this’ — whatever you do, when you go out there for WrestleMania, make sure you have fun. Period.”

It certainly looks like the first UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion took Punk's advice to heart as she knocked her debut out of the park. Despite a shaky buildup with microphone in hand, Rousey looked absolutely at home inside a WWE ring. Her action between the ropes was scintillating, while she displayed the kind of charisma even the most seasoned performer would be proud of.

Ronda is now scheduled to face Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship at Money in the Bank on June 17, while Punk's next UFC outing takes place this Saturday against Mike Jackson.
