Title Change On Last Night's WWE NXT
Gold switched hands on yesterday's show.
On the November 27th episode of NXT, Lio Rush defended his Cruiserweight Championship against Angel Garza. During the match, Rush delivered the Final Hour and covered Garza. While the referee was counting the pin, Garza's foot touched the bottom rope before the count of three. However, the official failed to notice, allowing Rush to pin Garza for the 1-2-3, retaining his title in the process.
Following the match, Garza intimidated Rush's wife, blowing kisses at her. Since this incident, their feud has only intensified, with both wrestlers attacking one another in the past couple of weeks.
Due to the dubious circumstances in which Garza lost, he was granted a rematch, which took place on last night's episode of NXT.
After a back and forth contest, Rush delivered the Come Up to his opponent and covered the Mexican Superstar. However, he was only able to secure a two count. The champion then followed up with the Final Hour, but before he could capitalise, Garza rolled to the outside. With Garza prone on the ringside floor, the Man Of The Hour tried to connect with the Final Hour again, but Garza put his knees up in time to block it.
With Rush in immense pain, Garza rolled his rival into the ring and delivered the Wing Clipper. With victory in his grasp, Garza covered the Cruiserweight Champion. However, Rush got his shoulder up before the ref could count to three. With frustration blistered across his face, the luchador locked the champion in a reverse full nelson, forcing Rush to tap out.
With that, Angel Garza was crowned the new NXT Cruiserweight champion.
While he celebrated his Championship victory, Garza beckoned his girlfriend into the ring. He then dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes.
