Reliable Twitter source WrestleVotes reported on Monday that there had been conversations backstage in WWE about Triple H being a member of Team NXT at Survivor Series.
They tweeted: “Hearing that over the past few weeks there has been a push from creative to have Triple H as a member of Team NXT in the men’s elimination match. That idea has been met w/ mixed reactions, including that of The Game. I’m told he does NOT want to be part of the match this Sunday.”
During a media call ahead of NXT TakeOver: Wargames this afternoon, The Cerebral Assassin put the rumours to bed. Explaining that he has “zero interest” in joining Team NXT, or wrestling in NXT. He added: “NXT is about the youth and the future.”
He didn’t close the door on wrestling in NXT completely, however, elaborating that It would have to be “the perfect time” for it to happen.
While Team NXT won’t be officially announced until tonight, it is rumoured to be Adam Cole, Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee.
Earlier this week, The King Of Kings made overtures for Kevin Owens to defect to NXT, which you can watch below:
