Perhaps Undertaker has a flight to catch? Maybe WWE's adhering to the 1993 Monday Night Raw formula where the biggest match goes on earlier? Whatever the case may be, the pay-per-view broadcast of WWE Extreme Rules will be led out by what some would consider the main event.
The company announced on Twitter a short time ago that the No Holds Barred match pitting The Undertaker and Roman Reigns against Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre will open things up at the 7 PM EST hour.
There is a bit of precedent here, as WWE has, at times, put a main event-caliber match on first on a pay-per-view. WrestleMania 35 this year comes to mind, as Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins' Universal title match led off the pay-per-view portion. At No Mercy 2016, the WWE title bout featuring AJ Styles, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose opened, owing to a Presidential debate running during the later portions of the event's time slot.
The event marks Undertaker's first match at a July pay-per-view since he wrestled Big Show in a Punjabi Prison match at the 2006 Great American Bash.
