Update On Potential Move To USA Network For NXT

What's the latest?

It was reported yesterday that the weekly NXT program had been pitched to USA Network for a potential time slot. The apparent idea was to air NXT on Wednesdays in direct competition with AEW's TNT show, which premieres on Wednesday, October 2.

PWInsider's Mike Johnson further elaborates on the situation, saying that what had previously been reported as a mere pitch looks to be a "done deal" in the eyes of some within WWE, and that "it's just a matter of time before the deal is announced."

Johnson adds that some NXT personnel were told to, "be prepared for a longer show and that things would be changing very soon."

As of Saturday, WWE's event calendar lists September 11, September 12, and October 24, as the next NXT taping dates, with September 11 being the only Wednesday of the three.

Dates could obviously be added to accommodate changes to the show, but Johnson notes that NXT as a two-hour live Wednesday show could theoretically begin on September 11, three weeks ahead of the AEW launch.
