Women's World Championship Match Added To AEW Full Gear

Riho puts the gold on the line!

All Elite Wrestling have just announced that a Women's World Championship match will be taking place this Saturday night on the Full Gear pay-per-view.

Champion Riho will be putting her gold on the line against Emi Sakura.

The company made the announcement via Twitter:

Riho comes into the match with six wins to her name so far in All Elite Wrestling. The Champ has defeated Britt Baker and Nyla Rose - for the vacant title, of course - in singles action, defeated Rose and Yuka Sakazaki in a triple threat at Fyter Fest, and also has wins in tag team bouts to boot!

Sakura, on the other hand, has participated in three AEW matches so far, finding herself on the losing end of six-woman action at Double Or Nothing, losing to the team of Riho and Baker alongside Bea Priestley on the second episode of Dynamite, but also defeating Allie, Penelope Ford and Sadie Gibbs in a four-way match on the fourth episode of AEW Dark.

At the time of writing, here is the full card for AEW Full Gear:

  • Chris Jericho (c) vs. Cody - AEW World Championship

  • Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega - non-sanctioned match

  • The Young Bucks vs. Santana and Ortiz

  • "Hangman" Adam Page vs. Pac

  • Bea Priestley vs. Britt Baker

  • Riho (c) vs. Emi Sakura - AEW Women's World Championship
