WWE Announcer Percy Watson Reportedly Leaving The Company

"Showtime" appears to be over...

After two and a half years of providing commentary for NXT, in addition to stints broadcasting on telecasts of 205 Live and Main Event, Percy Watson is departing the company, per a note from Squared Circle Sirens.

Fightful followed up and learned that Watson had reportedly been telling people that he doesn't plan to work for WWE much longer. At this time, however, a release from the company has not been confirmed.

Watson reportedly wants to pursue other projects outside of wrestling.

Beth Phoenix has begun broadcasting NXT in Watson's place at recent tapings, while Watson's tenures on 205 Live and Main Event both ceased at different points earlier this year.

Previously a wrestler, Watson signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2009, and appeared on the second season of NXT in its former reality show format. Watson also worked with NXT in its developmental brand form before being granted his release in May of 2013. He wrestled his final match the following year, losing to Lance Hoyt at an independent card in Georgia.
