WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Vs Cain Velasquez Scheduled For Crown Jewel

A UFC rematch...

The closing angle of the premiere episode of WWE SmackDown on FOX appears to be paying off in Saudi Arabia at the end of this month.

New WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is scheduled to wrestle previous UFC opponent Cain Velasquez at WWE Crown Jewel on October 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, according to a report from Dave Meltzer.

After Lesnar demolished Kofi Kingston in seven seconds to win the title Friday night, Velasquez (flanked by Rey Mysterio) stormed the ring, took Lesnar down, and wailed on him with repeated punches before a fearful Lesnar escaped.

The two previously battled at UFC 121 in October 2010, where Velasquez TKOed Lesnar in just over four minutes to capture the UFC Heavyweight title.

Velasquez trained for a time at WWE's Performance Center in the summer of 2018, while mulling a jump into professional wrestling. He wrestled twice for AAA in these preceding months, working in trios matches.

At one juncture this week before Friday's angle, Velasquez was reportedly in talks with Tony Khan and AEW. Cody Rhodes was one of Velasquez's partners in a match at AAA TripleMania XXVII on August 3.
