WWE Reportedly Upset With Treatment Of United Kingdom Championship At OTT Event

David Starr stomped on the title...

WWE officials are reportedly upset with how the United Kingdom Championship was treated during Over The Top Wrestling's WrestleRama 3 event.

For those of you who missed what happened, David Starr faced UK Champion WALTER in the main event of the evening. During the match, Starr grabbed the title, shouted at the Imperium man for 'selling out', before stepping on the title as a sign of disrespect.

Starr has spoken out against WWE over recent times, mainly down to the company's lack of healthcare for its Superstars.

It was reported in last week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE approved of the spot in the Starr/WALTER match, however, Dave Meltzer has issued a correction in this week's WON.

For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Meltzer penned: "A correction from last week. WWE didn’t approve the David Starr stomping on Walter’s NXT U.K. title belt. Nobody knew ahead of time. Walter and Starr made the call to shock people live knowing it would get over huge. As you can imagine, the reaction from WWE was not positive. Many wrestlers thought it was disrespectful and the higher-ups weren’t happy either."
