WWE SmackDown Live Debut On Fox Tabbed As Show's 20th Anniversary

Will bring out the big guns for it...

Technically, WWE SmackDown as a weekly series would turn 20 years old in late August, but October 4 is probably close enough to count, especially when you need to make a big splash in your debut on a major network.

The WWE SmackDown Live premiere on Fox will celebrate the show's 20-year anniversary regardless, emanating from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Iconic names advertised for the special event include Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting. The Undertaker appears in the graphic for the event, but is not mentioned by name in the advertising.

Tickets for the event go on sale Friday at 10 am PST (1 PM EST), the same day that tickets also go on sale for All Elite Wrestling's TNT broadcasts in Boston and Philadelphia. The SmackDown debut on Fox will take place just two nights after the premiere of AEW on TNT, which is being held in Washington, DC.
