Abyss & Sonjay Dutt Leave IMPACT Wrestling - Heading To WWE Performance Center

Huge losses for IMPACT...

Abyss and Sonjay Dutt are leaving IMPACT Wrestling.

The pair had recently been working as backstage producers and occasional in-ring talent, with news of their departure confirmed in a statement released by Ed Nordholm, the President of IMPACT. The statement also confirmed that Tommy Dreamer and Konnan will be taking The Monster and Dutt's respective places on the company's 'core creative team'.

"We reached an amicable agreement with Sonjay and Abyss to allow them to pursue this opportunity,” the statement says. “They have been tremendous contributors to IMPACT Wrestling and we wish them every success. We are thrilled that Konnan and Tommy Dreamer have agreed to bring their 50+ years of experience to our core creative team.”

This has been reported elsewhere, but Dave Meltzer is reporting that Dutt and Abyss are heading to WWE to work at the Performance Center. For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what Dave penned in this week's WON: "Dutt was under contract through September but he had the chance to go to WWE as they are looking to expand backstage people for NXT. Dutt, Jimmy Long (who WWE already hired) and Park (Abyss) were three of Jeremy Borash’s (who works behind the scenes in NXT these days) best friends when he was in Impact and that probably ties that all in."
